A few months ago we wrote an article about long lived cats. Two things are encouraging: cats can live over 20 years, and Pedigreed cats can live as long as many non-pedigreed cats.
Today we learned from a local cat lover that their BSH had lived for 19 years. The owner should be very proud of as they certainly did very good in keeping the cat.
The improvement of pet food science and the progress of vet medicine made in the past decades are undoubtedly the reasons to the increased longevity of cats. Hope all the cats can live longer.
We have worked on the breed British Shorthair for 15 years, so the oldest cat we own now is just 15 years old. He is Sardross Bingo. He was one of the fundamental breeding male cats and now is retired and living with us. Here are some photos of him. Hope you like him.
▲ Bingo was born in Australia.
▲ Bingo in his first show with the judge Larry Swanson. That was a very nice show.
▲ Bingo showed as a kitten.
▲ From kitten to now, he still love to be around us.
